The one about stress….

Happy Stress Awareness Month! This year, the theme is "Little by Little," a mantra that speaks volumes to me. So much so, I'm excited to announce that you'll be receiving not one, but two newsletters from me this month, whoop whoop!

Today, let's dive into the power of the little things - those seemingly minor habits and practices that, when accumulated, can significantly impact our stress levels in a positive way. Whether it's choosing an early night over another episode of your current binge series, cutting off caffeine post-midday (or is that just for me?!), engaging in deep breathing exercises around big meetings, or simply choosing to go for a walk during lunch, these small acts can weave a tapestry of tranquility over the chaos of our daily lives.

Personally, I have a morning ritual that sets the tone for my day: standing on my balcony to greet the day with fresh air and sunlight, practicing my 5,3,1,1 routine (that's five deep breaths, listing three things I'm grateful for, sharing one smile, and setting one intention for the day), but have other practices throughout the day too-  gratitude practices before bed, choosing books over screen time, and opting for walks when I’m getting frustrated or annoyed. These practices, though simple, are the daily pillars of my peace!

In my Resilience training sessions, I emphasise the importance of having easy, yet effective, techniques for stress reduction and resilience building. It's crucial to recognise that we don't need to overhaul our entire lives to make a difference. Small, consistent steps can lead us to a calmer state of being, enabling us to thrive across all aspects of our lives.

These small habits play a monumental role in regulating stress hormones, keeping us grounded in the present, and helping us navigate our body's fight or flight response. They're the unsung heroes in our quest for peace and balance.

I want to learn about the "little" things you do to manage or reduce stress. What are the daily pillars of peace in your life?

Hit reply and share your strategies with me!
