Wellbeing and Resilience

Core Skills Training   •   Duration: 1 Day 
Suitable for: All Staff

This course looks at the whole person: professional and personal and is both theoretical and experiential, whilst acknowledging the pressures and impact of working in a challenging sector.  The aim is for participants to explore stress, resilience and wellbeing from their own personal experience first, before identifying how they might contribute to a happy, healthy working culture. 

 

Participants will have the opportunity to explore their own emotional responses to scenarios and identify personal habits they may not have previously been aware of. Participants will also learn practical tools to manage their emotions to ensure a calm and focussed response to different situations or people.  

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand the importance and impact of Emotional Intelligence

  • Describe brain physiology and how it drives particular behaviour in themselves and others 

  • Assess their own stress risk factors and coping strategies; 

  • Self reflect and adjust mindset in order to secure different outcomes 

  • Consider the impact we have on others and how relationships with colleagues and service users can be improved 

  • Take appropriate actions around self care

  • Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence Competencies Model 

  • Practical techniques to de-escalate stress and improve wellbeing  


What to expect:

The session will be highly interactive, using PowerPoint presentation, discussion and group work to ensure that all course objectives are met, while providing a safe, open forum for participants to exchange views and best practices, in line with the appropriate company policy. A workbook will be used throughout the session for personal reflection and group activities.
