Managing Wellbeing

Leadership Training   •   Duration:1 Full day (or 2 × 0.5 days) Suitable for: Managers

This course looks at the whole person: professional and personal and is both theoretical and experiential. The aim is for Managers to explore stress, resilience and wellbeing from their own personal experience first, before identifying how they might bring a wellbeing focus to their teams.  

 This course will provide Managers with a range of tools, techniques and resources which will help them facilitate honest conversations, assess stress (and risk) levels within their teams and identify solutions which will contribute to maintaining a happy, healthy workforce.  

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the physiological mechanisms of stress and mental ill health

  • Practice using a range of tools which help them assess their own stress risk factors and coping strategies; and how this could be used with others

  • Plan how they will begin conversations with their teams about stress and wellbeing

  • Create a strategy for their team to establish a culture of wellbeing.

  • MIND Wellness Action Plans 

  • Resilience Model (ARC) 

  • Growth vs protection mindset 

  • Practical techniques to de-escalate stress (breathing and mindfulness techniques) 


What to expect:

The session will be highly interactive, using PowerPoint presentation, discussion and group work to ensure that all course objectives are met, while providing a safe, open forum for participants to exchange views and best practices, in line with the appropriate company policy. A workbook will be used throughout the session for personal reflection and group activities.
